Naked Hike in Holland

I write this contribution, while I’m inspired by web sites like www.ohnaturist.com and www.naktiv.net . Since my teens I’ve been visiting the lovely nude beaches on the Dutch North Sea coast and along the shores of the lakes in the area I live in. Over 25 years I’ve been going to these places just so I can be naked and get a sun tan. (more…)

The Netherlands’ Oldest Nude Beach – Callantsoog

Callantsoog, the first official nude beach of the Netherlands

On the North Sea coast, in the province of North Holland, the picturesque village of Callantsoog can be found, a popular tourist destination. There is plenty of accommodation from simple B&Bs to comfortable hotels and villas. The village can be especially crowded in summer. The North Sea coast is popular with Dutch people, Germans and, to a lesser extent, Italians and the Spanish.

The Netherlands is known for its tolerant attitude towards naturism. Although not every Dutch person practises nude recreation, the Dutch are generally not a prude people. Taking a shower together after sports, or changing clothes on the beach without struggling with a towel around your waist are normal.

Are you surprised to hear of naturism in India? Don’t be. In a country of such contrasts, it is said that where one statement can be true, the diversity of this vast country allows the exact opposite of that statement also to hold true. Similarly, while it can be said that while the majority of urban Indians with exposure to a western lifestyle have a disapproving view on public nudity, there are pockets of the country where nudity can be enjoyed in wonderful natural surroundings.
